Over 20 years of rich experience in sustainable development & management of social issues, particularly in Disaster Management, DRR, Humanitarian Response, Climate Change, Volunteering and Information Technology with organisations like Government, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNV, PCI India, Centurion University, Sphere India, RedR, CAF India, & Integrated Volunteers Network (IVN). Presently leading IVN and in Advisory capacity to national and global platforms for volunteer, disaster management & sustainable development. With his vast experience of 40+ disaster situations in coordination, response and rebuilding expertise for the disaster affected communities in various capacities, has established his place at global platforms like Global Inclusive Disaster Management Committee, Grand Bargain, Chatter 4 Change, International Youth Development Committee, Global Youth Peace Committee, and Global Environmental Peace Circle. He is the founder of Mission #IndiaVolunteer which has brought a revolution in-between the volunteers of India. India Volunteer Day, India Volunteer Book, India Volunteer Mobile Application & India Volunteer Awards are initiatives to Identify, Integrate & Intensify the voluntary power of India. He himself has volunteered to many, one of them was to 1 st Ariel Assessment of Fani Cyclone affected areas of Puri, Odisha. He has presented the India Volunteer a model for Resilience at Iran, also participated to Asian regional dialog on Localisation at Jakarta, Indonesia. He has worked with various State authorities (SDMA) and government in planning, designing and implementation of Disaster Risk Management & Disaster Risk Reduction programs to build a resilient, safer & sustainable communities. He has been involved in more than 40+ disaster emergency coordination, responses, rehabilitation & recovery exercises in different disaster situations such as flood, cyclone, tsunami, drought, earthquake and landslides at Assam, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Mizoram, Uttrakhand & Bihar. He has also international experience in Sri Lanka & Nepal Humanitarian situations. He has been actively involved in policy, research, advocacy, module development and designing early warning systems with state government of Bihar & Odisha. He has led various programs for Sphere India and IAG collaborative platforms in different capacity for building up Inter Agency Platforms. He has hands on experience in public health, WASH, shelter, livelihood, Skill, education & protection issues and led the Joint Rapid Need Assessments for 18 disasters, in active coordination with more than 50 Humanitarian Actors. Through his passion he has established a network of India Volunteers across pan India to promote the engagement of volunteers in Humanitarian situation and building environmental resilience, under the IVN platform. He has varied experience of working with Corporate, Academia, Government, Civil Society, UNV (Volunteering) & UN Agencies.

Shubhro Roy, Mentor, India Volunteer

He is a Post Graduate in English Literature from Delhi University and Diploma Holder in Journalism from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi. He started his social work career as a young National Service Scheme (NSS) Volunteer and then later on went to join the Centre for Youth and Social Development (CYSD) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India as a founder employee where he spent almost two decades working in different capacities with the underprivileged masses especially urban and rural youths. He also took up many projects of CYSD before he moved on to Delhi to form and look after the think tank National Social Watch and Wada Na Todo Abhiyan Campaign (Keep Your Promises). Presently he is mentoring many new startups and organizations like Daan Utsav The Joy of Giving Week, Zestreet, Shades of Happiness, Indian Research Academy, Build India Group (BIG), Odisha Development Forum (ODF), Centre for Labour Studies (CLS), Centre for Social Change (CSC), Bharat Leadership Festival (BLF), Save Child Beggar (SCB), Integrated Volunteers Network (IVN), DIYA, Divya Yuva Manch, OSCAR Consultancy and Project 100 to name a few. He is also on the board of Zest, The Civil Society, Interfaith Foundation of India and Global Youth Peace Committee (GYPC) organizations and Advisor, International Youth Committee (IYC) and Bharat Leadership Festival (BLF). He has travelled a few overseas countries like Nepal, Colombo and Malaysia for Youth Work. He is a good communicator, networker and crisis manager with strong interpersonal skills. Lastly he has been awarded with the following Awards: India Peace Prize by International Youth Committee in February 2018, Ignited Associate Award by Global Youth Peace Committee in July 2018, Lifetime Achievement Award by Bharat Leadership in September 2018, Appreciation Certificate by International Youth Committee in November 2018 & 2019, Ehsaas e Hind Award by Navya Sarjana in August 2019 and Global Gandhi Peace Award by Khwab Foundation in October 2019.
